New Rams for 2023!

Leeds Rams have today launched a new logo and kit for the 2023/24 season for our senior and junior teams. We are so proud of our new identity and all the players are looking forward to showing off their new threads in upcoming games!

The 2022 Nationals campaign started amazingly for South Leeds Rams. Still not in a position to enter in our own right (but we are close!!) we again joined in with Bradford Bulldogs Ball Hockey Club but had an amazing 8 players across u10 and u13 paying, many of who were making their competative debut!

Leo Marsden, Vilem Scherks and Charlie Farrow from South Leeds Rams playing in the u13's drew the short straw with an early start in Rotherham. First up they faced Steelers coming out victors with a 7-2 win.

The second game of the day v Nottingham saw a shut out for Charlie on net minder duties and Leo getting a well deserved goal in a 10-0 victory.

Further games v Sheffield and Nottingham saw the team keep their 100% record and get into the final v Sheffield coming out victors again to wrap up a perfect run to the trophy.

The u10's made up of Jenson Shackleton, Leo Massie, Charlotte Marsden-Petty, Willa Jackson and Heidi Bancroft from South Leeds Rams started off strong again beating Sheffield before a 2-1 loss to Nottingham. Another win against Sheffield saw them meet Nottingham in the final gaining revenge with a 2-1 win to take the cup.

The second qualifier event will be running soon before the 2022 Nationals Finals in May.

November 2021 and January 2022

The last 2 months of 2021 saw two of our junior players take part in the Autumn Nationals qualifier and finals.

Vilem Scherks and Leo Marsden made their debuts playing with Bradford Bulldogs BHC in the u10's qualifiers and finals and did the Rams proud with excellent performances across both dates winning the qualifying event in November but loosing out to the Nottingham Huskies in the finals in January.

South Leeds Rams bounced back against a strong Steelers Blue team at Simply Skate Arena. Starting line up was Philip Padison NM, Lee Farrow, Howard Barwick, Adam Cooper, Ben Small, James Petty, Ethan Lamb, Joe West, Dan Sylinski, Megan Edwards, Sam Kay and Nick Jackson as bench coach after picking up an injury.

We had a fantastic start with a goal from Dan Zylinski after 59 seconds and didn't look back from there. Steelers Blue kept us busy thoughout the game but with a depth on the bench we were able to keep fresh legs rotating in which went a long way to our strong performance. Plenty of players ended up getting points on the board and a special mention to Joe West who got his first goal in 5 seasons of playing!

Junior Autumn Cup

Sunday saw the start of the Junior season in the Central conference with the Autumn cup at Simply Skate. Our joint team with Bradford Bulldogs BHC saw Charlie Farrow debut in net along side Jacob Midgley in the u13 group. The team had a cracking debut winning all four games with Charlie putting in some solid shifts.

South Leeds Rams got their 2021/22 season off to a start v Sheffield Lancers on 2 October at Concord Leisure Centre. The starting line up was Dan Zylinksi NM, Lee Farrow, Adam Cooper, Nick Jackson, Megan Edwards, Jack Kenny, Ethan Lamb and James Petty. With a short bench, it was a a tricky game testing everyone's fitness. Dan had stepped into the net minder role like a champ but Lancers were got off to a strong start that we were unable to pull back. Jack Kenny got our only goal assisted by Adam Cooper and by the final whistle we ended up on the end of a 6-1 defeat. Man of the match deservedly went to Nick Jackson.
